London League fixtures

The London League fixtures are published and you can download our LL fixtures document (v2 06 Sep 2017) from the link below. While every care has been taken in producing this document, errors can occur; the definitive authority for all fixtures is the London Chess League website.

After several seasons when the League expected to have to move from Golden Lane, finally the move has happened and a new central venue is in play for 2017-18. This is Citadines Hotel, 94-99 High Holborn, London WC1V 6LF.

The crowning glory

The 2014/15 season could hardly have gone much better for the club with titles secured for Essex League Division 1 and Divisions A and B of the North Circular Chess League, not to mention the NCCL Lawrance and Finchley Cups.

There was one remaining issue in respect of Division 2 of the London League, where our team who had been long term leaders stumbled towards the end of the season, losing three successive matches.  However, all’s well that ends well.  Tonight’s match at Cavendish 2 saw the visitors achieve a winning 5½ – 3½ lead on the night thanks to wins by Artur Sygulski, Paul Barclay and Mark Murrell, securing promotion to Division 1 for next season.

Many congratulations to Larry Marden and his team.

Top of the tree for Christmas

christmas treeAfter last night’s 6½ – 3½ win by the London League first team against a King’s Head 2 side that outgraded it on every board bar one, the club moves into the Christmas break extremely well placed in both the London and Essex Leagues.
