Writtle 3½ – 4½ Wanstead 1, 20 April 2005

For the first time in 18 seasons, Wanstead secured the Essex League title by winning at defending Champions Writtle.  The fact that victory would suffice for the title was confirmed on the morning of the match when Basildon’s appeal against the win I had been awarded on adjudication in my game against Kyle Bennett played on 21 October(!) was rejected.
