There was a three way tie on 5½/7, necessitating a play-off. Gerry Hayes opted out of this, as he felt he did not deserve to participate as he had picked up ½ point through a bye and a full point through John Philpott’s concession. Two play off games between Ian Hunnable and Larry Marden were both drawn, and it was agreed that these should be joint champions.
